The rooms at Guest House Roji To Akari are simply delightful. The shared bathroom comes with free toiletries, making it easy to freshen up. Plus, some rooms even have a cozy patio where you can soak in nature's beauty. As a nature lover, I felt right at home!
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the lack of smoking rooms. But hey, that's just my opinion.

The hotel is located in a picturesque setting, right across from Minamidera, one of the art houses on the island. The cleanliness of the hotel facilities was impressive, with the shower rooms and toilets being very clean. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Ando Museum and is within walking distance of other art house projects. it was a great place to stay.
Not obvious to find.

I had a wonderful stay at a charming guesthouse on a beautiful island. The traditional Japanese style and nostalgic atmosphere made me feel like I was truly experiencing the culture. The kitchen was well-equipped and I enjoyed chatting with fellow travelers. The host was lovely and I even got to meet the resident cat. I highly recommend this place for a unique and memorable stay.
The walls were a bit thin, so I could hear some noise from other guests. Additionally, there was a specific timing to use the washer, which was a bit inconvenient for our short stay.

We had a great stay at a cozy guest house in Honmura. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the main bus stop and in front of Minamidera. The old repurposed Japanese house had a charming atmosphere with colorful mosaic sinks. The new tatami in our room had a pleasant smell.

The twin room I stayed in at Guest House Roji to Akari was cozy and comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and had free toiletries. I loved the patio in the selected rooms, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. The bed had soft linen and towels were provided. The room also had a desk, which was convenient for my work. I felt at home and had a pleasant stay.
I just didn't enjoy the fact that some rooms were non-smoking. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

We stayed at Guest House Roji To Akari for two nights and absolutely loved it! The location was perfect, close to good restaurants, the Honmura port, bus stop, and tourist attractions. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us to check-in earlier than expected. And the highlight of our stay was definitely the adorable and well-mannered cat! The private room we stayed in was small for two adults and a baby, but it wasn't a problem for a short stay. The shared facilities were clean and well-equipped, making this place a perfect mix between a hostel and a guest house.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

We stayed at a cozy guesthouse in a perfect location for exploring the local art scene. It was just a short walk away from the central area and right across from a famous art installation. The room was clean and comfortable, and we loved hanging out in the spacious kitchen. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we even received a discount coupon for the cafe next door. it was a great experience immersing ourselves in the unique atmosphere of this small village.
The walls were quite thin, so we could hear conversations and footsteps from other guests.
